Collection of dry rations for flood-affected families

The OPA began collecting donations at its office for the families affected by the recent floods. This initiative was launched in response to the widespread devastation caused by the torrential rains, which left many households severely damaged and countless families struggling to regain stability. Many victims were displaced from their homes, lost their belongings, and were left without access to basic daily essentials, making immediate support crucial..

To address these urgent needs, the OPA called upon its members and well-wishers to contribute dry rations, essential household items, hygiene products, and other necessities. The collection drive served as an opportunity for the community to come together and extend a helping hand to those facing the harsh aftermath of the disaster. Every contribution, whether big or small, was seen as a meaningful step toward easing the burden of the affected communities.

Through this heartfelt effort, the OPA aimed not only to deliver material assistance but also to restore hope, uplift spirits, and show unwavering solidarity with families enduring a difficult and uncertain time. The initiative reinforced the organisation's commitment to social responsibility and highlighted the power of collective compassion in moments of crisis.

This project was organized by the Social Events & Outreach Programmes Committee, headed by Mr. Priyantha Sahabandu, Vice President - OPA and Chairman of the Social Events & Outreach Programmes Committee. the dedication and tireless efforts of the office bearers and members in successfully executing the OPA's Golden Jubilee commemorative activities, along with numerous seminars, brainstorming sessions, and professional development initiatives. He highlighted the wide range of impactful programmes carried out during the year and urged members to continue their active engagement with the OPA to further the advancement of the professions and the progress of the nation.
