Message from the President-Elect of OPA -
Mr. Tisara De Silva

I would like to begin by expressing my sincere appreciation to all the members of the OPA General Forum for electing me with a clear majority as President-Elect for 2025/2026 at the AGM election held on 31st of October 2025. I am honoured to assume this role as the President Elect at a pivotal moment in our nation's history, as many of our people continue to struggle with the aftermath of Cyclone Ditwah. As the Apex Body of the country's professional community, we have already demonstrated leadership through our prompt assistance to those in need, and we will continue these efforts in the months ahead.

More importantly, we will draw on the wide-ranging expertise and experience of our membership to support national recovery efforts. Together, we will work to help revitalise the economy and restore the industries severely impacted by the disaster as well as the livelihoods of those affected.

As the new Management Team we will ensure that we contribute to the nation through different programmes whilst demonstrating transparency and performance with integrity. We have already planned a set of innovative projects and meaningful events to further boost the image of OPA.

As intended, this newsletter will keep our members updated on our ongoing work. We have several important initiatives planned, and I encourage you to stay engaged and informed. I extend my best wishes to the new Editor and the members of the Publications Committee and assure my fullest support throughout the year.
