The 93rd Annual Scientific Sessions of the Sri Lanka Dental Association
The 93rd Annual Scientific Sessions organized by the Sri Lanka Dental Association were held on 26th–27th June 2026 at Cinnamon Life, Colombo. The conference manual is prepared as a comprehensive guide for participants, providing essential information about the event, including its theme, “From Innovation to Impact: The Future of Oral Health,” as well as messages from key dignitaries, organizers, and committee members. These messages highlight the importance of oral health in national development, the role of innovation and research, and the need to improve access to quality dental care in Sri Lanka.
The Prime Minister of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, was the Chief Guest, while the Deputy Minister of Health and Mass Media, Hon. (Dr.) Hansaka Wijemuni, M.P., participated as the Guest of Honour for this session.
The manual also includes the scientific programme, which outlines lectures, keynote speeches, symposia, workshops, and other academic sessions conducted over the two days. These sessions cover a wide range of topics such as modern dental technologies, artificial intelligence in dentistry, regenerative treatments, oral surgery, orthodontics, and professional ethics. In addition, the programme is designed to support continuous professional development by enabling dental practitioners to learn new techniques, share knowledge, and engage with both local and international experts.
Abstracts of guest lectures, workshops, and research presentations, including papers and poster presentations. These contributions showcase current research findings, clinical case studies, and emerging trends in dentistry, such as the early detection of oral cancer and the use of advanced materials in treatment. Overall, the conference manual reflects the significance of the event as a major academic platform that promotes innovation, collaboration, and the advancement of oral healthcare in Sri Lanka.
