Brainstorming Session on "Disaster Management and Recovery"
The brainstorming session on "Disaster Management and Recovery" was organized by the National Issues Committee of the OPA.
The session was held on March 23, 2026, at the OPA Auditorium. The OPA, acting as the apex body for 52 professional associations with over 60,000 members, aimed to leverage this forum to address a critical national issue.
The primary purpose of the session was to identify effective strategies for recovering from the adverse impacts of disasters and to strengthen the nation's preparedness and management capabilities for future events, both natural and man-made. Resource persons were professionals from various sectors, including academia, sustainable energy, town planning, architecture, engineering, irrigation, medical, and private industry.
The ultimate goal of the session was to produce concrete, expert-backed strategies that can enhance the country's resilience and recovery mechanisms in the face of disasters.
