Gemmologists Association Research Symposium

All-night Pirith ceremony followed by an alms-giving

The Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA), a founder member of Organisation of Professional Associations (OPA) representing vast majority of doctors in government service is celebrating 100 years of service to the medical profession, the healthcare system and our motherland, in year 2026.

GMOA being a highly influential trade union and a professional organisation, has contributed immensely to the healthcare sector and in issues of national interest.

To mark this milestone, GMOA has organised a series of events commencing with religious activities to invoke blessings for future activities of the organisation and bestow merit on members past and present.

The first event, an All Night Pirith Chanting and an Alms Giving to one hundred Venerable Theros representing all main sects, was held at the OPA premises on 9th and 10th January successfully, with the participation of distinguished dignitaries including the President, President Elect and General Secretary of OPA and a large number of medical and other professionals.

OPA extends heartiest best wishes to GMOA on this important milestone to continue it’s role as a highly influential organisation with renewed vigour!
